圭蔵千咲 Kiyozou Chisaki (Chisaki = thousand blossoms/blooming, Kiyozou = gemstone, hidden)
"Please, nukenin-san was my parents. Call me Chisaki."
Some flavor of biochemist based out of River Country, refugee from Mist’s bloodline purges originally but not shinobi-trained
Water-natured- doesn't know any jutsu, but has a knack for intuiting fluid dynamics and is an excellent swimmer and good in boats. Does not have the training or chakra reserves to activate her clan's transformation technique, but has all of the passive-ish abilities up to that point. (She can do the poison spit but nothing more active than that at time of kidnapping.)
Her research is related to something that the Leaf either wants suppressed or wants her to collaborate on. Possibilities: This timeline's Orochimaru is maybe still doing his immortality research and is interested in Chisaki's study of some biologically immortal lizard or salamander or something in River Country and wants to use some of her research (gene sequence for the bio-repair cycle + the lizard maybe has some nature chakra thing it does that is similar to some of the steps of the mokuton in Hashirama’s cells?) in combination with the mokuton research to see if he can’t encourage the trait to express in existing Senju descendants? Or something. If the "lizard" is actually Chisaki samples tweaked with something that is actually biologically immortal then that could get interesting
Bloodline traits:
can hold her breath for a really long time & slow her metabolism
can excrete toxins in saliva (every Kiyozou is immune to their own, but not each others' (this means that kissing is a super edgeplay act of trust for them whereas some other shit (scratching, marking? might not even register as kinky because differing norms on what kinky is are hilarious >:3)
Ooh ooh and can do a chromosomal shift to be XX or XY so she's bi twice
aaaaaaand because self-indulgence is Good she also has a full mouth of pointy teeth
blue-black tongue? can taste-scent things well, convenient because her vision isn't great (which isn't a bloodline trait, she just has crappy eyes)
heat-sensing pits in face or head?
nails grow in dark, are thicker & stronger than human norm, grow in pointed but are still technically nails and not claws
Beast mode: Kiyozou have a feral version transformation that raises denticle-armor in their skin and a crown of spikes (like armadillo lizard plating) that grows through their hair and down to protect the spine- the spikes protect the entire top & back of skull but aren't necessarily visible depending on hairstyle. Nails harden and curve further to proper claws, finger & toe pads shift to create suction grip for 3D maneuverability w/ no need for chakra sticking, twitch reflexes & speed improve.
Random weird shit: Kiyozou can cry blood-tears when really freaked out similarly to some "I'm sick, don't eat me"/play dead displays some reptiles can do. Chisaki has only had this happen once as a kid and *also* thought she was dying, so her parents explained it to her. She's toyed with the idea of learning to do it on purpose like crying on command, but she can't do it yet.
Bloodline background: The Kiyozou family have a summoning contract with the lizards (primarily represented by varanids when Chisaki is doing the summoning, but she can also call on the whole gamut of leggy squamates) and took on some of their traits over the generations like the Inuzuka. Their clan before the purges specialized in infiltration + shock troop deployment in times of war- get a team in and have them lay waste from the inside, as they were highly maneuverable and difficult to take down in the time that they could deal a great deal of damage, and were skilled at detecting persons hidden from conventional senses with their heat-sight, something many genjutsu users didn't think to cover unless they were used to working against them specifically/knew to expect them.
Appearance:
Skin: weathered, tough, can tan but starting point is fairly light- looks like someone who spends more time outdoors than one would expect of a labrat (she has slight DR even without knowing how to armor herself properly with chakra manipulations)
Hair: naturally a dark green and kept long, has some lock structure and tends to go too long between trims so if it weren't for her dyeing it black it would give a pretty strong impression of her having a head full of seaweed and flotsam. Since she does dye it black, it's mostly just a place where pens and pencils she tucked away to "be handy for later" go to die
Eyes: round pupils, can pass as a warm/light brown in most lights but are actually a darkish orange, rather nearsighted, usually wears contacts but has backup glasses
Height: tallish, 5'8" or so
Build: did sports in school (swim team, boat stuff) so she has strong shoulders and long limbs, but isn't as active now. Due to the difficulty of getting grad students assigned to her lab (age, possible anti-immigrant sentiment), she does most of her own sample collection and does go on hiking trips in the field so she has retained some muscle mass but is not, and never really has been, in what shinobi would consider fighting shape.
*Her parents encouraged her to be active and develop her coordination enough to satisfy them as "healthy" (which with their skewed standards means that she's better at basic self defense and parkour shit that would be expected of a civilian), but made a point of not teaching her anything that she'd require further training to be able to disguise, so she does not move like a shinobi or have many of the typical startle reflexes built in.
*Chisaki keeps her bloodline traits hidden as possible to avoid tipping off Mist hunter-nin that they missed one- the dark green hair is usually dyed black, although if she does shift sexes she gets a metabolic boost that means she has to re-dye her roots. Her work gives her a good excuse to wear a surgical mask and outside of work she'll usually do the same in public - not that weird, people just assume she has a cold and is being polite. She is not as insistent about this as Kakashi and while having her whole face out in public will be mildly weird for her, she isn't super concerned about Mist hunter-nin bothering her in the middle of Konohagakure.
Personal history:
Parents fled Kirigakure at some point after the Sandaime Mizukage lost it and started the graduation massacre tradition, seeing that it wasn't just a political shock move that would be discontinued- they have confidence in their ability to raise a child that would be able to kill all of their yearmates if they needed to, but if their Mizukage couldn't figure out the problem with only having one new ninja each year to replace the inevitable casualties in the field and the impact that would have on their village's fighting capability, they didn't want anything to do with the village. The Kiyozou were one of the later clans to join and were more loosely attached anyway, perhaps, so it cost them less emotionally to make the cost benefit calculation that they did and ditch. Chisaki was very young at the time- four or less- and doesn't really remember Kiri.
Her parents are both still living (because some people get to keep both parents ffs), and run a ferry/tour boat rental/camping ground in River and are probably drawing pay as information brokers from the River Country government because they don't really know how to get all the way out of the game, lbr here, but Chisaki overall had a pretty damn normal childhood, aside from the firm early lessons in how to hide the most obvious markers of their bloodline. Her family settled in fairly well and are far enough from Kiri that as far as they can tell they got clean away after dispatching of the first pair of hunter-nin that caught up to them, so they've been living the quiet life insofar as that's possible when caught between Suna and Konoha.
Chisaki distinguished herself in school and got recommendations to a good university, where she is now a grad student working towards her doctorate. She attended several symposiums at which Orochimaru's work was presented and has a not insignificant intellectual crush on the man now, but absolutely no expectation that senpai would ever notice her work in particular, she's mostly just chasing down personal interests with the encouragement of her academic advisor because it keeps her submitting regular work for publication and brings positive attention to their institution.
* The Kiyozou probably have an assumed family name? Y'know, cause they're not fucking morons?
川蜥 かわせき Kawaseki, but instead of using the kanji for river + seki "stone", it's written river + the on reading for "lizard", because somebody thinks they're hilarious. (Chisaki's dad? This feels like a dad joke. Anyway, I love it.)
- "Wait, that's how you've been writing Kawaseki this whole time?"
Chisaki grinned over her shoulder at the mildly scandalized copy-nin. "My dad thinks he's funny," she told him.
Kakashi shook his head, eyes still fixed on the kanji boldly declaring this the passport, not of Chisaki River-stone, as he had expected, a fairly common River Country surname, but of Chisaki River-Lizard. "And your mother didn't object to him compromising your cover for a pun?"
She pursed her lips thoughtfully. "You know, you'll never get her to admit it but I think she enjoyed feeling like she was getting away with something. Being away from Kiri has been good for them, I think. It sounds like the place has been a shitshow and only got worse after they left."
"You're not interested in seeing where your family came from?" he asked, tone mild.
Chisaki snorted. "Considering I'm pretty sure any clans with kekkei genkai that didn't get out got murdered en masse when I was in elementary school and the same kage is in charge still? I'm good, thanks."
Kakashi tipped his head lazily, none-too subtly looking over the rest of her paperwork over her shoulder. "Maa, fair enough."
"Please, nukenin-san was my parents. Call me Chisaki."
